Two teams compete in round-based matches where one side must plant a bomb while the other defends and attempts to stop or defuse it. Each player has only one life per round, meaning every movement, decision, and callout carries weight.
In Hardcore mode, health is extremely limited and on-screen assistance is removed, rewarding disciplined play, sharp awareness, and strong communication over reaction time alone.
Played in a bracket-style elimination format, lose two matches and you’re eliminated from the tournament. Success depends on preparation, coordination, and the ability to perform under stress, making every round a decisive moment.
Some tournaments includes a double-elimination bracket, giving teams a second chance after their first loss.
Teams that lose a match are placed into a loser bracket, where they must continue winning to stay in the tournament. While the path is more difficult, strong teams can fight their way back to face the remaining teams from the winner bracket.
All players are randomly assigned to teams at the start of the tournament. In each round, teams are matched against one another in head-to-head competition. The winning team advances to the next round, while the losing team is eliminated. This process continues through successive rounds until only one team remains and is crowned the tournament champion.
